Therapeutic Bodywork

$85/$125/$190

I work with many different modalities. I charge for my time, not the modalities I use. I offer 45 minute, 1 hour, and 90 minutes time slots. After a thorough intake where we will discuss your goals, I will work with the most appropriate tool in my tool box to support your body’s innate healing. Modalities I incorporate:

  • Swedish Massage—Swedish is most common type of massage. It involves soft, long, kneading strokes, as well as light, rhythmic, tapping strokes, on topmost layers of muscles. This is also combined with movement of the joints. By relieving muscle tension, Swedish therapy can be both relaxing and energizing. This is the foundation of all the bodywork that I do.

  • Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy-refers to the treatment of myofascial trigger points that are found in muscles and fascia. Trigger points are painful, tense areas that are found in muscles. Trigger points can be found anywhere on the body and are one of the most common causes for chronic musculoskeletal pain.

  • Deep Tissue Massage—Deep tissue massage is a massage technique that’s mainly used to treat musculoskeletal issues, such as strains and sports injuries. It involves applying sustained pressure using slow, deep strokes to target the inner layers of your muscles and connective tissues. This helps to break up scar tissue that forms following an injury and reduce tension in muscle and tissue. Deep tissue is not necessarily a firm pressure treatment.

  • CranioSacral Therapy (CST)— is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance.  It brings balance to the central nervous system.

  • Visceral Manipulation (VM)-is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases fascial strain patterns within the abdomen to create more range of motion and vitality within the whole fascial system.

  • Dynamic Cupping—Static cupping, is the more traditional method, where cups are placed to stimulate acupuncture points for pain relief. Dynamic cupping is a combination of massage movements, joint movements and the negative pressure created by proper use of the cups. The cup is moved by weak suction along the area of muscle that needs a massage. Dynamic cupping increases circulation, reduces inflammation, and reduces muscle tension.

  • Myofascial Release (MFR)—Myofascial Release is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying slow, gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion.

  • Reiki-Reiki is the life energy that flows through all living things. It is a subtle and effective form of energy work using guided life force energy to bring balance to the ethereal body. Reiki is not affiliated with any particular religion or religious practice.

What to expect:

After a detailed health intake and postural/range of motion assessments we will review your goals and expectations. I will formulate a treatment plan based on the above information. The flow of your session will be based on the treatment plan and will likely vary each session.

I will exit the space while you get undressed, you may undress to your comfort level. Once you are on the table and under the drape I will come back into the room. I will undrape the area of your body that we are currently working on and you will remain draped otherwise.

I will communicate with you throughout your session. Both sides of your body will be treated. I offer 45, 60 and 90 minute sessions. I find 45 minutes is best suited to pediatrics, acute cases focusing on one area, or in cases where budget is a consideration. It is important to note that 45 minutes is not enough time for a full body session.

what people are saying…

Meredith B.

Lavina was very in tune with what needed more work on different parts of my body! She worked on a damaged nerve [on] my head that I didn’t think would ever get feeling back, but now I do have feeling again!

Dominique Y.

Lavina is intuitive and listens to her clients. Massage with her is so relaxing and beneficial. See her!

Andree C.

I have gotten 2 massages from Lavina. She was so good at listening to my concerns and both times I left a much more relaxed person with a lot less pain. I loved that she gave me some tips on my own self care to avoid some of my worst and persistent knots. I can't wait to book again
